* package: remove 'v' prefix from github-fetched packagesGravatar Victor Huesca2019-06-192-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On Github, a large number of projects name their tag vXYZ (i.e v3.0, v0.1, etc.). In some packages we do: <pkg>_VERSION = v0.3 <pkg>_SITE = $(call github foo,bar,$(<pkg>_VERSION)) And in some other packages we do: <pkg>_VERSION = 0.3 <pkg>_SITE = $(call github foo,bar,v$(<pkg>_VERSION)) I.e in one case we consider the version to be v0.3, in the other case we consider 0.3 to be the version. The problem with v0.3 is that when used in conjunction with release-monitoring.org, it doesn't work very well, because release-monitoring.org has the concept of "version prefix" and using that they drop the "v" prefix for the version. Therefore, a number of packages in Buildroot have a version that doesn't match with release-monitoring.org because Buildroot has 'v0.3' and release-monitoring.org has '0.3'. Since really the version number of 0.3, is makes sense to update our packages to drop this 'v'. This commit only addresses the (common) case of github packages where the prefix is simply 'v'. Other cases will be handled by separate commits. Also, there are a few cases that couldn't be handled mechanically that aren't covered by this commit. | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 3e05efd76636 ("package/lm-sensors: disable static library for shared-only build") added BUILD_STATIC_LIB to LM_SENSORS_MAKE_OPTS with value that depends on BR2_SHARED_LIBS, but forgot to remove it from the common LM_SENSORS_MAKE_OPTS. | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add -static to the link command line to have libgcc resolve libc symbols. This overrides the default -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib, which is useless for static build anyway. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The check-package script when ran gives warnings on text wrapping on all of these Config files. This patch cleans up all warnings related to the text wrapping for the Config files starting with the letter l in the package directory. * Rename BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to BR2_STATIC_LIBSGravatar Thomas Petazzoni2014-12-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since a while, the semantic of BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB has been changed from "prefer static libraries when possible" to "use only static libraries". The former semantic didn't make much sense, since the user had absolutely no control/idea of which package would use static libraries, and which packages would not. Therefore, for quite some time, we have been starting to enforce that BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB should really build everything with static libraries. As a consequence, this patch renames BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to BR2_STATIC_LIBS, and adjust the Config.in option accordingly. This also helps preparing the addition of other options to select shared, shared+static or just static. Note that we have verified that this commit can be reproduced by simply doing a global rename of BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to BR2_STATIC_LIBS plus adding BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to Config.in.legacy. * packages: rename FOO_MAKE_OPT into FOO_MAKE_OPTSGravatar Thomas De Schampheleire2014-10-041-6/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While the autotools infrastructure was using FOO_MAKE_OPT, generic packages were typically using FOO_MAKE_OPTS. This inconsistency becomes a problem when a new infrastructure is introduced that wants to make use of FOO_MAKE_OPT(S), and can live alongside either generic-package or autotools-package. The new infrastructure will have to choose between either OPT or OPTS, and thus rule out transparent usage by respectively generic packages or generic packages. An example of such an infrastructure is kconfig-package, which provides kconfig-related make targets. The OPTS variant is more logical, as there are typically multiple options. This patch renames all occurrences of FOO_MAKE_OPT in FOO_MAKE_OPTS. * lm-sensors: don't use host ldconfigGravatar Thomas Petazzoni2014-07-151-0/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | To know whether the libiconv library is available, lm-sensors is using the host ldconfig, which is obviously wrong in cross-compilation. Moreover, the lm-sensors program making use of the iconv_*() API already does it when __UCLIBC__ is *not* defined. In this case, the iconv_*() functions are already part of the C library, so there is no need to link against a separate library. Therefore, this patch simply removes the libiconv handling.
